Land's End to John O'Groats Cycle

Dr Connolly is Back in the saddle Again

This time it's a 7 day cycle from one end of the UK to the other.

On the 22nd May 2010 Dr Connolly & Marilyn Connolly together with a team of friend's and colleagues will be leaving Land's End to cover the distance of nearly 900 miles in seven days in aid of Help4Heroes.

Help for Heroes needs no introduction but you should visit their website to get an idea of the amount and breadth of support our servicemen are getting across the country.

As many of you know Dr Connolly undertook a charity cycle from London to Brussels over 3 days in 2008.  This was for the anti landmine charity MAG.  Although Dr Connolly has always been in medicine his family has a long military history.  His grandfather won the Military Medal for gallantry in the battle of Arras in WW1, his father served in the RAF druing WW2 and his brother Michael served with 45 Commando the Royal Marines in the Falklands.  His brother Michael was amongst the first Royal Marines who liberated Port Stanley.  Marilyn's family also have significant links with the military; her great uncle was in the signals in the far east during the Burma campaign of WW2, he was captured and died on the notorious death railway and her nephew is served with the army in Northern Ireland and Iraq.
